Legislative District 6

LD6, the largest state legislative district in Arizona and the United States. LD6 includes some of the most beautiful parks and natural wonders in the world, including the Grand Canyon, the San Francisco Peaks, Monument Valley and the White Mountains, and the Colorado and Little Colorado Rivers. Eight tribes make up the majority of district’s constituents; Hualapai, Havasupai, Kaibab Paiute, San Juan Southern Paiute, Navajo, Hopi, White Mountain Apache, San Carlos Apache and some Zuni Pueblo. Environmental stewardship, water justice, tribal sovereignty, social and economic justice for women and LGBTQI are some of my top priorities.

I am Navajo of the Tangle People Clan, born for the Red House clan, maternal grandfathers are of the Deer Water clan, and paternal grandfathers are of the Cliff Dweller clan. I was born north of the sacred mountain of the west, Doo'ko'osliid (the San Francisco Peaks). I am one of thousands of federal employees who have lost their jobs. Many in rural Arizona are finding fewer job opportunities in their home communities. Some folks are seeing their homes valued less than they had hoped in prior years. Essentially, their nestegg and savings are dwindling before their eyes. The American Dream seems lost to us. It is not lost; we need to elect people who represent the citizens of our amazing state. Our citizens are good people, yet we must understand and realize the power of our vote. Our future can be bright if we all participate in protecting our way of life. Changing Arizona's laws is fundamental to securing a better and brighter future.

I am a combat veteran of the Persian Gulf War. I previously served in the Arizona legislature as a Representative and a Senator for this district. I earned my bachelor's and master's degrees at NAU in Flagstaff, and I am currently a student at ASU's Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law. Knowledge of policies and the legislative process is essential for representing Arizona's citizens.

Your representation is key in protecting public education, healthcare, infrastructure, public safety, and the American Dream. I am committed to affordable housing, advocating for water justice, and protecting vulnerable populations such as missing and murdered peoples.

I am committed to civil rights, equity, and justice in Arizona. This includes educating our citizens about living together. Arizona needs a leader who can lead by educating and building bridges.

In 2021, I sponsored the legislation (SB1802) that established August 14th as "Arizona Navajo Code Talkers Day", an official state holiday. My work ensured the recognition of Navajo Code Talkers' contributions to world stability during World War II.

I have the knowledge and experience to work for our citizens by representing your values, and needs. I understand change in laws and policies are key to creating a home of hope and opportunities. Your support in critical in far beyond elections and I have always been an accessible public servant
